Phenotype

rss line 11A, reduced sensitivity to salt (NaCl) and osmotic stress during germination, tolerating approximately 150mM higher concentrations of NaCl and about 250 mM higher concentrations of sorbitol in the media; reduced sensitivity to Na, Rb, K and Cs; plantlets accumulate proline to a significantly lesser degree than WT when they are exposed to either salt or osmotic stress; rss mutation does not alter ABA sensitivity.
